OS can’t complete your entire day to day work you have to have some new programs or application. And also at times you have to uninstall some programs too. You can add or remove windows components too
How to install a new program
To install a new program from your CD-ROM
Go to control panel from start menu and click add or remove program and choose add new program from the dialog box and click CD or Floppy
Insert the CD or floppy.
Sometimes your CD will auto run in that case select the desire location and complete the installation by following the dialog box
Or Run the command in the start menu type your drive letter of your CD drive: \ setup or install which your software provider is using
Windows Components:
To add windows components click add \remove windows Components and select the required program you have to install from the list and press next insert windows XP CD to your drive. Some of these programs may require restarting the computer
Remove the program
Go to control panel and click add or remove programs and click on the change or remove on the left side of the program in the dialog box Make sure you use this utility to remove the program installed to your system
To remove windows components click add\remove windows components and select the required program and press next, windows will remove the required program.
