SANYO announces Xacti Sound Recorder with a speaker cradle, ICR-XPS03MF, and the ICR-XPS01MF. These new Sound Recorders feature Linear PCM recording in addition to various MP3 modes. Linear PCM is a high quality sound recording mode that is equivalent to an audio CD, which can be recorded onto a microSD card and easily transferred and played back on a computer or shared online. Sanyo has used large-capacity lithium-ion battery and a touch sensor enabling smooth operation, the thickness of the new products has been reduced by about 28%, and the weight by about 5%, compared to previous SANYO models.
Linear PCM recording captures 16 bit, 44.1 kHz, 1,411 kbps, with a maximum of 21,000 Hz recording in various MP3 recording formats. The ICR-XPS03MF is equipped with two mikes with Multidirectional Stereo Mi that can be selected based on the usage situation. In addition to a built-in mike utilizing a tilt-up format that reduces vibration when the unit is placed on a table for recording, there is a “Multidirectional Stereo Mike,” and a built-in “Directivity Zoom Monaural Mike.” The zoom mike is useful for gathering sound from a single direction such as at a seminar or lecture. The Sound Recorders will be available from the end of January 2010 in silver, red and green colors.
